Rapidgator Slow Download on Premium? How to Fix It

Updated ·RapidQuick editorial team (TUOPIC Co., Ltd.)

The short answer

First, check that the top right of the page says "Account: Premium". If it says "Free", you are logged out or your Premium has ended.

Premium ends as soon as you use up your plan's bandwidth (the total amount you can download), even if days are left. Running out of bandwidth is a common reason for a sudden slowdown.

The official FAQ says blocked cookies or a proxy can stop Premium from being recognized, and that speed can depend on your internet provider.

What to check, in order

When downloads are slow on Premium, the cause is usually not Rapidgator itself. Most of the time, your account simply isn't being recognized as Premium. Check these in order to find the cause quickly.

Step What to check If this is the problem
1 Does the top right say "Premium"? Log in again and check your Premium status
2 Have you used up your bandwidth? Apply a new plan
3 Are cookies blocked? Unblock them
4 Are you using a proxy or VPN? Turn it off and try again
5 Is your connection itself slow? Test your speed on another site
6 Are you using a download manager? Try split (multi-thread) downloads

1. Is your account recognized as Premium?

When you log in to Rapidgator, your account status is shown in the top right of the page.

Top right of the Rapidgator page showing
If this says “Free”, you are downloading as a free user

If it says "Account: Free", you won't get Premium speeds. Possible reasons:

  • You are not logged in, or your login has expired
  • You are logged in with a different (free) account
  • Your Premium has expired, or you have used up your bandwidth (see the next step)

If you switch browsers, or use both a phone and a computer, you may be logged out on only one of them. Log in again on the device and browser you download with.

2. Have you used up your bandwidth (the total you can download)?

Rapidgator Premium has a bandwidth limit as well as a number of days. On the official site, for example, the 180-day plan says "6 TB Bandwidth".

Plan selection on Rapidgator's official site. You can choose 6TB, 12TB or 24TB of bandwidth, and the 180-day plan for 49.99 USD shows
Each plan has a set total you can download during the period (Bandwidth)

When you use up this bandwidth, Premium ends right then, even if days are left. If downloads were fast yesterday and suddenly feel like a free account, suspect this first.

Bandwidth for each plan on the official site (as of October 2026):

Period Bandwidth
30 days 1TB
60 days 2TB
90 days 4TB
180 days 6TB (12TB and 24TB also available)
365 days 12TB (24TB and others also available)

If you have used it up, apply a new plan and you'll be Premium again. If you often download large files, a plan with more bandwidth is less likely to run out partway through.

3. Are cookies blocked?

The official FAQ answers the question "I bought Premium but it isn't recognized" like this:

Rapidgator's official FAQ. If Premium isn't recognized after buying it, it says to allow cookies in your browser, turn off software that blocks cookies, and disable any proxy server
Official FAQ: if Premium isn't recognized, check cookies and proxies

In short:

  • Allow cookies in your browser
  • Check that you aren't using software that blocks cookies (some ad blockers and security software do)
  • Disable any proxy server

If you use an ad-blocking extension, add an exception for Rapidgator or turn it off for a moment and try again.

4. Are you using a proxy or VPN?

The official FAQ has another note about proxies. Rapidgator counts downloads by IP address. So if you use the same proxy as other people, you may see a message saying you have already downloaded a lot.

Rapidgator's official FAQ. Downloads are counted by IP address, so a proxy shared with others can show a download limit message even if you haven't downloaded anything. It says to disable the proxy
Official FAQ: downloads are counted by IP address

If you use a VPN or proxy, turn it off, log in again and try once more. The FAQ also says Premium users are identified by cookies, not by IP address, so make sure cookies are allowed too.

5. Is your connection itself slow?

The official FAQ also says that download and upload speeds may be limited by your internet provider (ISP).

  • Measure your connection with a speed test on another site
  • If you are far from your Wi-Fi router, try closer to it or use a cable
  • Try again at a different time to avoid busy hours

If the speed test is slow too, the problem is your connection, not Rapidgator.

6. Use a download manager for split downloads

According to the official FAQ, free users can only download one file at a time and can't use download accelerators. Premium users can use a download manager for multi-thread (split) downloads and to resume interrupted downloads.

Rapidgator's official FAQ. Free users can only download one file at a time, but Premium users can download with multiple threads using a download manager, and resuming is supported. It also says speed may be limited by your internet provider
Official FAQ: Premium users can do split downloads with a download manager

If you download one file at a time in your browser and the speed stays low, a download manager (such as JDownloader) may help. If a download stops partway, you can resume it, so large files are less of a worry.

Are several people using your account?

The official FAQ says you can give a Premium account to someone else, but only one person may use it, otherwise the account may be suspended. If family or friends use the same account at the same time, it could be suspended, so be careful.

If it still doesn't work

  • Your Premium status or bandwidth looks wrong: Contact Rapidgator support (support.rapidgator.net). Their support guide asks you to describe the problem, the error message you saw and the link to the file in question.
  • You entered a coupon bought from RapidQuick but didn't get Premium: Contact us with your order number. We'll check and sort it out.

For where to enter a coupon and how to choose a plan by bandwidth, see How to buy Rapidgator Premium and apply a coupon.

FAQ

Q. Why did my Rapidgator Premium suddenly get slow?

A common reason is that you used up your plan's bandwidth (the total you can download) and Premium ended. Check whether the top right of the page says "Account: Free". Premium ends when the bandwidth runs out, even if days are left.

Q. Does a VPN make Rapidgator slow?

The official FAQ says that with a proxy, Premium may not be recognized, or you may see a download limit message because you share an IP address with other people. Turn off your VPN or proxy and try again.

Q. Can I use a download manager?

Yes, with Premium. According to the official FAQ, Premium supports multi-thread downloads and resuming interrupted downloads. Free users can only download one file at a time.

Q. Can I share a Premium account with family?

The official FAQ says you can give an account to someone else, but only one person should use it. If several people use it, the account may be suspended.
